Kim Kardashian & Khloe’s Mumbai Journey: A Reality Check on Spice Markets

In the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian made waves as they attended the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai. The episode, which aired Thursday, details how the sisters managed to squeeze sightseeing into their jam-packed 48-hour visit.

While in Mumbai, the Kardashian duo left the luxury of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel to explore the local markets. Expecting an “Aladdin-style spice market” full of trinkets and souvenirs, the sisters were instead greeted by a street lined with toys and costume jewelry.

As they walked through the market, Kim joked about taking a taxi due to the monsoon rains, though they decided to continue on foot, making light of the situation with remarks like, “At least there’s Starbucks here.” When it was time to head back to their hotel, they opted for a rickshaw ride, with Khloe humorously remarking, “I’m too big for this s**t.”

In candid interviews, the sisters reflected on the contrast between their expectations and reality. Kim admitted, “I thought it was going to be like the marketplace in Aladdin, where he’s stealing bread. This is like the streets.” Khloe echoed her sister’s sentiment, saying, “We’re not in Calabasas anymore. There are rickshaws and people staring at us, wondering what these Americans are doing here. We thought we were going to a spice market, but this isn’t quite what we had in mind.”

Despite their surprise at the local market, the sisters still managed to purchase some souvenirs, including pillboxes from a silver store. However, Khloe hinted they may have been overcharged, joking that the shopkeepers “saw us coming” and took advantage of them.

Season 6 of The Kardashians is now streaming on JioHotstar, with six episodes available. The episode also features glimpses of their family back in the U.S., including their mom Kris Jenner, sister Kourtney Kardashian, and others in Calabasas.
