Extension of deadline for admission to B.Sc. Nursing; Applications can be submitted till ‘this’ date

Mumbai: Around 1,500 Seats in Institutional Quota for B.Sc. Nursing Remain Vacant After Regular Admission Process

After the regular admission process for the B.Sc. Nursing course was completed, approximately 1,500 seats in the institutional quota across the state remain vacant. Considering the number of vacant seats across the country, the Indian Nursing Council has extended the admission process deadline for nursing courses until November 30. Consequently, the State Common Entrance Test Cell has announced a second special round of admissions for the vacant institutional seats. This special round will begin on November 19.

The institutional admission process for the B.Sc. Nursing course concluded on October 31. After this, the Indian Nursing Council decided to extend the deadline until November 30 to fill the remaining vacant seats at the institutional level. In light of this, the State Common Entrance Test Cell has declared the special round of admissions for the vacant seats, which will commence on November 19. In the state, there are five government and 173 private nursing colleges. There are 250 seats in government colleges and 9,200 seats in private colleges. Some seats in private colleges are filled through the institutional quota. As a result, nearly 1,500 seats in the institutional quota remain vacant. Additionally, with three new colleges receiving approval from the Indian Nursing Council, 120 new seats have been added. Therefore, a total of approximately 1,620 seats will be filled through this special round.

Details regarding the available seats for the special round will be announced on November 18. From November 19 to 21, students will need to apply in person at the respective colleges with the prescribed format. The first selection list and waiting list will be announced on the notice boards and websites of the nursing colleges by 7:00 PM on November 21. Selected students must visit the colleges with all required documents and fee DDs by 5:30 PM on November 22 to confirm their admission. The second selection list and waiting list will be announced on the notice boards and websites by 7:00 PM on November 25. Students selected in this list will have to confirm their admission by submitting documents and fee DDs by 5:30 PM on November 26-29. On November 29, by 6:30 PM, the details of admitted students and vacant seats will be announced on the college websites. Eligible candidates will be admitted to these vacant seats by 1:30 PM on November 30. The final list of students who have been admitted will be announced at 2:30 PM, and the admission process will conclude at 11:59 PM on November 30, as clarified by the State Common Entrance Test Cell.

Separate Examination for Students Joining During this Period
A separate entrance exam will be conducted for students joining the B.Sc. Nursing course between November 1 and 30. Additionally, students must have 80% attendance to be eligible to sit for the exam.

Three New Colleges Approved in the State
The Indian Nursing Council has granted approval to three new nursing colleges in the state, including one government and two private colleges. The government college offers 50 seats, while the private colleges offer 70 seats. These colleges are now part of the ongoing admission process.
