About the e-Shram Portal

Launched on October 21, 2024, by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the e-Shram portal serves as a “One-Stop-Solution” for unorganized workers. It was developed in alignment with the governmentโ€™s budget announcement to consolidate various social security schemes on a single platform. This initiative enables registered workers to track benefits they have received and access new social security programs.

Benefits of the e-Shram Portal

The e-Shram portal is integrated with the National Career Service and Skill India Digital Portal, providing workers with better job opportunities and skill enhancement programs. So far, 13 central government schemes have been linked to the platform, including:

  • Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM-SVANidhi)
  • Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
  • Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)
  • National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS)
  • Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)
  • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana โ€“ Gramin (PMAY-G)
  • Ayushman Bharat

Additionally, the e-Shram portal is linked with the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, ensuring more benefits for workers. To simplify access to government schemes, it has been integrated with the MyScheme platform, reducing the hassle for workers to claim their entitled benefits.

Multilingual Support for Greater Accessibility

To improve accessibility, the Ministry of Labour and Employment introduced multilingual capabilities on the e-Shram portal via the Bhashini platform on January 7. This feature allows workers to interact with the platform in 22 Indian languages, fostering inclusion and making the portal more user-friendly.

With continuous enhancements and growing registrations, the e-Shram portal is becoming a crucial tool in empowering India’s unorganized workforce, ensuring they receive the benefits and opportunities they deserve.
